Primary Care Physio is independently certified as a Great Place to Work. We are a national independent specialist first contact practitioner provider who is purely focused on supporting NHS Primary Care Networks (PCNs) and their GP practices to deliver high quality and tech enabled NHS primary care FCP solutions.

Through our talented team of over 330+ full-time FCPs/ Clinicians, who are supported by experienced and Health Education England trained FCP clinical supervisors, we have been commissioned by over 175 NHS Primary Care Networks (PCNs) to deliver an integrated and local FCP managed service.

Working as a First Contact Physio at Primary Care Physio

Having been commissioned by over 175 NHS Primary Care Networks, we are the largest employer of Band 7, Band 8a, and Band 8b First Contact Pratitioners in the UK.

We now serve 1050+ GP practices and a patient population over 8 million.

Through this extensive and broad professional peer support network, as well as our incredibly talented Clinical Leadership Team, we pride ourselves on providing you with unrivaled training, development, and support to ensure you become recognised by Health Education England's Centre for Advancing Practice as a registered First Contact Physiotherapist.

We have vast experience in implementing a large number of FCP services and go the extra mile to make sure both you and the primary care network are fully supported during implementation to make the service a huge success.

We are passionate about MSK care and the positive impact our team is having in primary care.

Our talented Clinical Leadership Team

Our Clinical Leadership Team is a team of incredibly talented Advanced Practice Physiotherapists who all have a huge amount of NHS Band 8 (APP) experience, hold a post-graduate MSc, and are injection therapists and non-medical independent prescribers.

As Regional Clinical Directors, they are responsible for leading clinical supervision. Every Regional Clinical Director has attended an accredited HEE FCP Supervisor course, and they have a team of Service Lead FCPs, who too have also attended an accredited HEE FCP Supervisor course, so are all well placed to help you gain that recognition as an FCP with Health Education England's Centre for Advancing Practice.

Supervision, training and development

All of our First Contact Practitioners receive supervision, training and development which supports them to evidence their competence against the 'Musculoskeletal core capabilities framework for first point of contact practitioners' developed by HEE and the CSP.

This is delivered during normal working hours and includes:

- One full week induction into our organisation which includes integrating into the primary care network MDT.
- Access to E-learning for health core FCP modules to support Stage 1 completion.
- Every week our FCPs receive 4 hours of protected time for professional development & supervision.
- This includes 1 hour of weekly 1-2-1 direct supervision with your Regional FCP Service Lead (HEE Approved FCP Supervisor) with a transparent shared portfolio.
- Recorded monthly in-service training linked directly to KSAs.
- Extensive peer support network through our team of 170 FCPs & APs based all over the UK.

We also fully fund level 7 MSc modules like injection therapy to further support our team members to evidence their competency to get registered with Health Education England's Centre for Advancing Practice as a First Contact Practitioner.
You can listen to one of our Regional Clinical Directors, speak at the CSP FCP implementation webinar about our training and support:

The benefits of working for Primary Care Physio

We do have a company pension, but admittedly this isn't comparable to the NHS, and all of our team receive 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
